Occupying 7.5 acres of land and right adjacent to Aldershot GO Station, this 720 unit project is comprised of townhouses, back to back townhouses and condominium buildings.
The project is divided into two phases and phase one is scheduled to begin construction by the end of 2016. Functions such as designated commercial space and a Neighborhood Park gives the project a sense of community.
The phase one of the Station West project is comprised of 140 Stacked townhouses, 58 back-to-back townhouses, 35 regular townhouses, 16 rear-lane townhouses and two-six storey buildings which contain 172 condominium units. On the townhouse portion of the site, although we have created four different typology of buildings, the design language is intentionally similar, to give the sense of unity and yet carefully different, to respect the difference in type of the townhouses. These building blocks are sensibly detailed to relate to visual human scale experience.
The two midrise buildings on the other hand, are designed with clean lines, aimed to achieve simplicity, juxtaposed with the townhouse blocks so their volumes wouldn’t overpower them. The cleanness of the midrise buildings design are complemented by free standing, three storey entrance building which houses an astonishing double ceiling height grand lobby on the ground level and the amenity rooms on the third. The entrance building is connected to the main buildings by bridges on third and indoor passageways at the ground level which are staggered to create an interesting interplay of the volumes. The vertical, elemental panels on the façade, represents the designed site itself with all its vehicular and pedestrian connecting grid, to maintain a fascinating dialogue between horizontal and vertical platforms.
