Instagram is no longer a photo-sharing app

Here’s how to find your way around with it. The head of Instagram Adam Mosseri recently announced that the app is “no longer a photo-sharing platform.” During the pandemic, we could see the enormous growth of one of the currently most popular video-sharing apps TikTok - and it is no surprise that the app grabbed people’s attention so easily. It is raw, real and it creates a feeling of a “closer bond” between the creators and audience.

Instagram adapted to this new feature easily through its “Reel” function and its success is slowly erasing the old photo-sharing feature from the platform.

So how to change your Instagram game to keep up with the trends and increase your bottom line?

Video marketing is here to stay, and in fact, most content marketing experts believe it will only continue to grow.

When creating video marketing focus on either educational or entertaining content that will be shareable and people will feel the urge to “smash” the save button. Connect it with your business vision and make sure to keep it short and straightforward.

But there are a couple of things you have to consider before you start spreading your brand awareness through video marketing. So make sure to check these two off your list before you start working on your video marketing.

1) Research Your Target Audience

Before your video can successfully gain attention, you need to know who you actually want to watch your content - and the more specific the better. Start by looking at the buyers, customers that your company already has.

2) Define Your Video Marketing Goals

Ask yourself what you want to achieve with video marketing is it Revenue-based goals such as increasing lead form inquiries or brand goals that focus more on driving more traffic?

Don’t forget to include parts of your personality while creating video content for your Instagram to create a connection between your brand and your customers so you can grow together.
